Getting Right with God

In some religions,
being accountable for our deeds and misdeeds is called karma.

How a person pays for his/her misdeeds , is what separates
Christianity from all other religions.
In Christianity, our misdeeds are called sins.
We have all sinned. And the laws of the universe , as set by God,
demand payment for our sins. This is called justice .
God is just . And Someone has to pay for our sins.

Human beings are the only creatures on earth that live for eternity,
because we are made in God's image [Genesis 1:27]*.
Our stay here on earth is temporary.
But we are eternal beings.

If, at the end of our earthly life, our sins are paid for,
then we will live eternally in the presence of God.
If, at the end of our earthly life, our sins are not paid for,
then we are sentenced to 'eternal separation from God'.
Separation from God is a kind of 'eternal perishing'.
Imagine living forever, without being able to enjoy any of it.
Joy is a gift from God, a foretaste of what God has is store
for His children.

So how do we pay for our sins?
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have
eternal life.” [John 3:16]

God loves us so much that He sent His own son, Jesus Christ,
to pay for our sins. The price that sin demands, is death.
Jesus is the Son of God, and also the son of man.
He is the only human who has never sinned.

His death on the Cross, paid for all the sins of all humankind,
once and for all. He willfully sacrificed Himself for our sins.
He knew beforehand that He would die a horrible death.
So how can I apply Jesus Christ's sacrifice to my sins.
John 3:16 tells us how :
By believing in Him "whosoever believes in Him".

But how do I start to believe in Him?
Ask Him: "Lord Jesus, Help me to believe in You".
And then, in good faith, trust Him enough to pray the following:

"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I need You.
Thank You for sacrificing your life for my sins ,
And for the sins of all human kind .
Lord Jesus, forgive me.
Wash me , cleanse me from all my sins.
I believe that God raised You from the dead.
I receive You right now as my Lord and Savior.
Come into me! Fill my spirit with Your Life !
Lord Jesus, I give you permission to work in me . "

Now, what just happened to you?
Having prayed this prayer, your spirit is now "Alive to God".
You are now "born again".
By receiving the Spirit of Christ into your spirit , by faith ,
you have started a lifelong process, called Transformation.
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestine ,
to be conformed to the image of his Son... [Romans 8:29]."
Your spirit is now alive to God, to Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Spirit.
And God now has your permission to work in your life.

You may feel something different inside you immediately.
Or you may not feel any difference yet.
But the TRUTH is :
you have been regenerated by the Life of God,
by the Spirit of Jesus Christ .

The next step in your Transformation is to nourish (feed) your spirit daily ,
so that your Faith can grow.
This is where the Bible (the Word of God), comes in .
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the 'Word of God'."[Romans 10:17]
I recommend that you get a Bible asap. Or read the Bible on the internet.
Read it out loud.
As you read God's Word, a certain word, or phrase, may "jump out" at you,
or seem to light up inside of you. This is the Holy Spirit working in you, speaking
to you, planting God's Word in you. Stay with that word or phrase a bit,
meditating on it, repeating it out loud. Feasting on it.

Another very important practice,
is to meet with other "Born Again" Christians .
Find a Church or Bible Study Group . Ask God to guide you .
Ask them "are you born again"?.
That should get you to the right place .
